You are cordially invited to join with us on Sunday, April 30, on the Eve of the Feast of Sts. Philip and James, in giving thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for 125 years of His providence and grace. There will be a High Mass at 5:00 p.m., at which Fr. Christopher Esget, Vice-President for our Region, will preach. This will be followed by a Festive Meal.

I was excited to see that there is still the presence of an active congregation at Redeemer. My grandparents and mother joined Redeemer in about 1936, where my grandfather served as usher until 1969 when he died. My grandmother was a member until 1979 when she died, and my mother (along with my father and us kids) were members until 1964 when we transferred to a Lutheran church nearer our home. My sister and brother and I were all baptized at Redeemer. I also attended the elementary school from fall 1959 through the spring of 1964. Many friends – and friends of my parents and grandparents – worshipped at Redeemer for years after we left.
It is an honor to wish you blessings on (now) 126 years of service to the surrounding community, adapting to the new and changing demographics. It is also nice to see that the sanctuary has been uplifted while maintaining some of the original pieces.
Blessings to all who serve.
